Fresh Essays: An Introduction
Fresh Essays is rated 2.3 stars based on 579 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fresh Essays mention subpar order quality, unresponsive customer service, and long response times. Fresh Essays ranks 68th among Essay Writing sites
We’ve set out to find out for ourselves. To that end, we carefully studied the service’s refund policies, customer protections, and terms and conditions. We also ordered an expository five-page essay on the stages of family life for a sociology class to see writers’ skills in action.
On top of that, we analyzed hundreds of reviews from previous customers to see how consistent Fresh Essays is at serving its customers. Ready to discover whether Fresh Essays deserves your hard-earned money? Let’s dive into our review!
Fresh Essays: Our Findings
In a nutshell, we’d advise you to look elsewhere if you want to place an order with peace of mind – and get the most out of your buck. The reason is that the essay we received was hardly A-worthy: it lacked proper sources, it was full of filler phrases, and the formatting was done with mistakes.
On top of that, there are way too many caveats when you turn to Fresh Essays for help. You can ask for free revisions, but only the first three rounds will be free. Yes, prices start at $10 for writing services – but you’ll have to select a 20-day deadline and the high school academic level to benefit from the lowest rate. But, but, but…
Beyond the many caveats, Fresh Essays lacks the range of services and disciplines we’ve seen offered by other services. For one, you can’t hire someone to rewrite your existing draft (only editing and proofreading services are available on top of custom writing).
All in all, the subpar price-quality ratio – and the numerous limitations and caveats – are the main reasons why we can’t recommend Fresh Essays to you in good conscience.
Some students have found EssayPro review sites helpful, while others prefer alternatives like WritePaper, which has garnered positive writing paper reviews for its quality and affordability.
Fresh Essays: Ordering Process & Paper Quality
For our order, we selected the undergraduate level. We opted for a 20-day deadline to benefit from the lowest rate – although it seems too long for a relatively simple order. The whole order cost us $65, which is pricier than other services we’ve reviewed.
Overall, the ordering process was convenient and intuitive, but it was spoiled by all the surprise fees (more on that below). If we could give Fresh Essays feedback, we’d recommend they switch to an all-in-one rate. On top of that, you can’t select your helper: Fresh Essays will assign you an expert.
Now, what about our essay? Was it good enough to warrant this price tag? Well, we’d argue that it wasn’t worth the money. We don’t know if selecting “Basic Writer” made any difference, but the essay wasn’t on par with our expectations.
For one, the APA formatting – while free – wasn’t impeccable. There were three capitalization mistakes, and the title page lacked the page number. The contents also left much to be desired. While the writer did follow our requirements toward the number of sources, one of those sources had little to do with the topic! The paper was also riddled with filler phrases, which is the opposite of what we want to see in an expository essay.
How Good Is Customer Support?
Let’s start with the good stuff: Fresh Essays provides 24/7 customer support by phone, live chat, and email.
But this is where the good news ends. First, if you’re willing to part ways with an extra $14.99, you can buy VIP customer service, which means you’ll cut to the front line when you contact customer support. While you may have a different opinion, we think dividing customers into VIPs and regulars is bizarre.
When we opened the live chat to ask about payment methods before placing an order, we didn’t expect to see a form instead of a text field. It required us to add our name and email address, select the department, and only then write a question. The choice of departments was limited: apparently, you can turn to live chat only to get help with unpaid orders or ask questions about an existing order.
We decided to try the first option anyway to ask our question. And… we never heard back. So much for 24/7 customer support!
Who Are FreshEssays Writers?
The short answer is, we can’t really tell you – all because Fresh Essays keeps its writers a secret. While the homepage claims there are over 2,000 writers available online, all we know about them is that they’re supposed to be native English speakers with degrees in their fields.
On one page, Fresh Essays says that it employs “all kinds of writers,” but it doesn’t have a dedicated page with some writer profiles. You also can’t browse writer profiles before you pay for your order.
On the bright side, you can specify if you want a writer to craft your paper in British or American English, for example, at no extra cost. You can also contact them using live chat while they’re working on your order.
While Fresh Essays keeps its writer selection process under wraps, other services are more transparent. You can find detailed Write Papers review online to learn more about their writers and services.
We looked everywhere but couldn’t find a dedicated page for aspiring academic helpers who want to join Fresh Essays. Usually, it sheds light on how writers are selected – but that will also remain a mystery.
Is Fresh Essays Affordable? Pricing & Discounts Overview
The FreshEssays price is progressive and depends on the chosen academic level, deadline, and service type. Here’s an overview of rates for custom writing orders with a 20-day deadline:
If you want your paper to be ready faster, the custom writing rates for seven-day deadlines rise to $18/page for high school, $21/page for undergraduate, $25/page for Bachelor’s, and $28/page for professional assignments.
Fresh Essays turned out to be one of those services that surprise you with additional fees for basic features that are free elsewhere. Case in point: when we got to the second part of the order form, it turned out that getting assigned an “Advanced Writer” would cost us an additional $19.5.
On top of that, a plagiarism report costs $9.99. Requesting a Turnitin and AI check also means paying Fresh Essays an astounding $29.99.
But even that is not all! So-called “helpful extras” also come with fees. Those include vital services like a table of contents, an abstract page, and the editor’s check!
These added costs can quickly inflate your order price. It's worth exploring a platform that offers Writepapers promo code and includes extras like plagiarism reports and formatting at no additional charge.
As for discounts, they are few. When we visited Fresh Essays, every page showed a banner with a promo code to save 5% at the top. There are discounts for orders over $500 (5%) and $1,000 (10%).
Revisions at Fresh Essays
If FreshEssays paper writing services don’t live up to your expectations, you’re in for another bad surprise: you can request only three rounds of free revisions. If your helper, for one reason or another, fails to polish off your order properly, you’ll have to cash in for the extra rounds of edits.
Since our essay had some issues – the incorrect APA formatting, most notably – we decided to request those edits. To its credit, Fresh Essays made it easy to do so: all you need to do is hit the Send for Revision button on the order page.
So, that’s what we did. In our request, we outlined our requirements, pointing out all shortcomings: capitalization mistakes, no page number on the title page, and a source that had little to do with the topic of the essay.
On the bright side, since the writer was online, she introduced all the edits regarding the formatting almost immediately. However, she did nothing about the somewhat irrelevant source, even though we clearly explained why it didn’t fit the essay’s content.
A Word About Deadlines
Let’s start with the good: we received our essay on time, several hours before the deadline. (However, it wasn’t impressive considering we gave our writer 20 days to work on a five-page essay.) The FreshEssays reviews from other customers also indicated that orders are generally delivered on time.
We also should point out that Fresh Essays can deliver orders within three hours. The deadline system is flexible overall, allowing you to select any date and time for your deadline once you get to the order page.
We have just one grievance against Fresh Essays: it’s how deadlines impact the pricing. We don’t have anything against the idea that more urgent orders cost more. However, we think it’s bizarre to see the lowest rates are available only for orders with a 20-day deadline!
What About FreshEssays Plagiarism?
Finally, let’s answer another vital question: if you hire FreshEssays essay writing services, can you expect a plagiarism-free paper written by a human expert?
To answer it, we decided to run the essay we received through two plagiarism checkers, QueText and Grammarly. Both returned an acceptable, although not totally ideal, plagiarism rate of 9% and 7%, respectively.
Remember that if you’re not willing to pay an extra $9.99, you’ll have no way to confirm whether your essay is plagiarism-free, which is a red flag.
Now, what about AI involvement? We’ll be honest: when we received the essay, we started having doubts about it. The flow of the text was so subpar that it came across as something generated by ChatGPT. However, checks with Writer’s anti-AI tool and ZeroGPT showed that a human likely wrote the essay.
In Conclusion: Fresh Essays Pros & Cons
Frankly, we have no good way to finish this FreshEssays review. While we received our essay on time, and it was okay in terms of quality, there are way too many red flags for us to recommend this service.
