About PaperCoach Service
PaperCoach offers professional academic help in multiple domains, from essays to research papers and dissertations. You can also get help with multiple-choice questions, problem-solving, and editing or proofreading. PaperCoach stands out with its low starting prices, a near-perfect SiteJabber score (4.9/5), and the variety of services provided.
While PaperCoach claims it’s a US-incorporated company, we couldn’t independently verify it. The reason we tried to is a fresh post on Reddit mentioning that PaperCoach was owned by a Lithuanian company.
How PaperCoach Scored Across Our 6 Criteria
After our mystery shopping and digging deep into Paper Coach reviews online, we were ready to translate our experience of this service into scores. Here’s how PaperCoach performed across our six criteria: pricing, quality, features, support, ease of use, and reputation.
PaperCoach Review: Better to Avoid
Here at NoCramming, home to the best essay writing services reviews, we couldn’t overlook the rising number of requests to test this particular service. So, we placed an order as mystery shoppers to see what PaperCoach is really made of.Here’s what we learned – and why we wouldn’t recommend this service.
Spoiler alert: the negative Paper Coach reviews aren’t that far from the truth.
PaperCoach: Customer Support
The first step to answering the question, “Is PaperCoach legit?” in our book is contacting customer support. While the initial response to our request for more information on our essay order’s price was lightning-fast, it was clearly generated by a chatbot.
We had to wait around 15 minutes to get to talk to a real person via chat. Once we got connected, however, the customer support representative was as helpful as you’d expect.
PaperCoach’s live chat window became a pet peeve for us while we were looking around the website, though. It pops up in the bottom right corner every time you visit another page, even if you’ve already closed it once – and it takes a lot of screen space. Closing the live chat window, by the way, takes two clicks too many, adding to the irritation.
PaperCoach Team: What About Writers?
That was one of the first questions that came to our mind. The only place where you can learn more about PaperCoach writers without signing up is an About page. And, while all the writers displayed there have high ratings, a couple of weird aspects caught our attention.
First, from the looks of it, Evan Wilks is not that customer-friendly: “We’re still working on his manners.” Second, Bryan Hackett doesn’t make quality a priority and is recommended for customers who “don’t mind settling for a B.” So, we were wondering if our “non-pro” writer could deliver a quality paper.
As a result, we received an essay on time, but it barely scratched the surface of the origins of capitalism. We expected an in-depth look but saw cut-and-dried statements as if a high-schooler wrote the text. Moreover, the awkward language gave us the impression that we were dealing with an ESL writer.
PaperCoach: Pricing & Discounts
PaperCoach’s rates start at $7.99 per page and vary based on the deadline and academic level. Here’s a quick overview:
- High school: from $7.99 to $23;
- Undergraduate: from $10 to $29;
- Master’s: from $14 to $36;
- Ph.D.: from $19 to $49;
- Admissions: from $20 to $66.
However, the pricing at PaperCoach isn’t what you’d call transparent. There are so-called “Complex Assignments” that will cost you 20% more. These “Complex Assignments” include any orders in one of 11 disciplines, like accounting, finance, and physics.
Furthermore, PaperCoach seems to want to inflate your final quote with services that are free on other platforms. For example, a plagiarism report will cost you an additional $9.99, a Grammarly report – $2.49, and choosing a Pro writer – +25%.
There’s no PaperCoach discount or PaperCoach coupon you can take advantage of, either.
PaperCoach: Ordering Process
Now, let’s get to the question, “Is PaperCoach safe?” To investigate it, we first needed to create an account on the website. While the process looks simple on the surface, there are several pitfalls you can fall into.
When placing your order, you’re asked to provide your email address and phone number. Yes, both are obligatory. The platform promises not to share your phone number with third parties. Yet, why does PaperCoach need it in the first place? We felt like jeopardizing our anonymity - and this is what most customers dread.
Call us overly cautious, but we found this requirement suspicious. Plus, there are a number of nuances you have to watch out for when filling out the order form ‒ more on that later. All in all, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise, doubting, “Is PaperCoach legit?”
PaperCoach: Does It Meet Deadlines?
Every student knows how crucial it is to submit a paper on time. So, this is an aspect we can’t ignore in our PaperCoach review.
We ordered an 800-word essay with a seven-day deadline, and the writer uploaded it on the due date. Yet, given the subpar quality, we assume the writer rushed through the process, which points to time management issues. One week is enough to craft such a relatively short paper. They could’ve put more effort into developing the topic and refining the draft.
Other customers mention urgent deliveries and no problems sticking to deadlines in their reviews. But some of them do complain about the quality. Maybe that’s what you must sacrifice to complete your order on time.
PaperCoach: Originality Guaranteed…or Not?
As we’ve mentioned above, the company doesn’t provide a free originality report, unlike other similar services. You have to look for a reliable plagiarism detection tool yourself if you want to make sure your paper is original. And we did exactly that.
We checked the delivered essay via 2 different tools. One of them showed 11% of plagiarism, while another found 15% of unoriginal content. The results didn’t surprise us because the essay lacked individual touch.
Surely, we’ve seen much worse results while reviewing other writing platforms. Yet, not every professor will be okay with the paper containing 15% of plagiarism.
