Much time has passed since our first (and, surprisingly, the most satisfactory) Essay Pro review, and now you are welcome to familiarize yourself with 99Papers.
99Papers is also among the new mighty players in the academic writing market – the website was launched in 2019, which makes it a provider only a couple of months old. However, it already collected a heap of negative and positive reviews from clients who ordered papers here, and the question among those considering its service now is – is 99Papers a scam? Is it good or bad, after all? We clarified the issue with our private investigation that included both a careful examination of the entire website and an order for a 5-page essay on Management. Find out what we got below.
An initial overview of the website doesn’t shed any light on who will write your paper if you order it here. The only information on the main page is working with professional freelance writers who passed “a complex application process” and had their academic background verified. Nonetheless, you stay in blissful ignorance about what the application process entails, who verified the writers’ academic background and how. Such absence of detail makes the process of ordering no better than gambling – you have 50/50 chances for success.
Unfortunately, we got into the unlucky 50% of the clients who are serviced by the worst of the worst. After ordering the paper, we tried to contact the writer to discuss the paper’s structure, and none of our messages remained answered. We uploaded the structure as an additional file to make it reach the writer somehow, but the file remained non-downloaded. The writer just wrote something he considered proper without using our uploaded sources, so the paper was on the topic we requested, but totally non-compliant with our needs and suggestions. It seems like the writer took the order into work and then disappeared from connection for 7 days, then popping up back again and sending us the ready paper with a standard message about the order’s completion and a request to rate him highly for a bonus from the company. Such a clownery!
Evaluation of the 99 Papers essay revealed that it is unique, so no problem with plagiarism was identified. However, its authenticity did not save the situation to the slightest degree as we were dissatisfied with the quality of communication and non-compliance with our structuring instructions. Once we sent the order for a revision asking to change the structure in line with our file, the writer rudely commented on the revision by claiming an additional payment and stating that the additional requirements were sent late, so we were not eligible for a free revision. We were simply abashed by such disrespect to the company’s terms and conditions, contacted support – and got another mind-blowing response asking us to wait for 14 (!) days for the Quality Assurance Department’s investigation! We would be dead by then!
It was quite strange for us to discover that the 99Papers sign up process is not user-friendly (which is unusual for such companies offering dozens of “order now” buttons on the main page and urging you to buy). Here, you need to scroll the page down to the very bottom to see the Order form, though several previous sections explain in detail which steps you need to follow to go through the 99 Papers registration process.
The first thing that the client sees when coming to the 99Papers website is an offer of a 5% discount on the first order. Quite a modest offer as compared to other websites offering 10-15% to the first-time clients. Besides that “huge” discount, the company offers the users of 99Papers writing service to enjoy over $430 of annual savings with the loyalty program. However, as soon as we clicked on the “learn more” button to find out how the loyalty system works, the website just moved us to the order form – not exactly what we were looking for. So, the mystery of the 99 Papers loyalty program was not revealed.
Technical support at 99Papers is rendered via three channels – live chat, hotline, and corporate email. The problem is that 24/7 is not exactly 24/7 – we approached the support via all three channels on Saturday evening and never received a response! Even the hotline was deceitfully silent, with no person on the other side of the wire to tell us why the order we placed 10 days ago is 10 hours delayed. So, we would not recommend using this service to students who put much at stake by ordering academic papers and need to submit them urgently to avoid academic penalties – you risk getting into serious trouble by relying on such an irresponsible and non-responsive service.
So, let’s sum it up. Is 99Papers legal? Probably, yes. The legal entity owning the website is said to be Smart Content LLC, an Illinois-registered company. However, since the website contains no exact address of the company in Illinois, we had no chance to check whether it’s indeed existent. The company is new, launched in 2019, so there is no long-standing reputation verified by years of work and service. From what we saw during our investigation, it will not live long because of clients’ complaints and reviews. From our side, we warn everyone considering this provider against doing so – the starting price of less than $9 for one page of your essay cries out loud that no ENL writer will ever work on your order. The pricing is suitable only for poor countries’ residents with a weak command of English and a horrible feel of the natural written language. Beware!
