First Look at EduWriter.ai

First, what is AI EduWriter? As the name suggests, it’s an AI writing tool that can supposedly help you with all kinds of written assignments for school. It’s marketed as a “free AI essay writer,” but that’s a little misleading. While you can use the service without paying, the free version is so limited in the amount of text and available features that you have no choice but to pay (or find a different tool).

The reviews you can see on EduWriter.ai’s website are overwhelmingly positive, but that’s not what we see on independent review platforms. For example, the service’s customer satisfaction score on Slashdot is 1/5, which is lower than what almost every other AI tool has. Still, we’ve seen positive feedback on EduWriter.ai as well, so we feel like it’s important we research and test it ourselves. It’s our goal to keep our readers informed on all academic writing services and potentially helpful AI tools.

If you're looking for helpful AI tools, check out the Textero AI review. We were blown away by its free access and lightning-fast content generation. You will get a complete piece of writing in mere minutes! If that piqued your interest, be sure to read the full review.

What’s Our Opinion on EduWriter.ai?

To test EduWriter.ai, we instructed the tool to write a 5-page paper on Emotional Coping Strategies for Terminally Ill patients. We attached our instructions and selected the type of paper and the subject area. Our goal was to check the quality of writing and the tool’s ability to follow the instructions. Most AI writing tools are notoriously bad at that.

The paper we received was all right in terms of the writing quality, but it was pretty much the same as what we’d get from most other AI writing tools, including ChatGPT’s free version. What made it stand out, though, was the fact that it already came with a title page, in-text citations, and a correctly formatted bibliography following the APA citation style. Most AI writers don’t have the same feature, at least not for free.

However, we immediately noticed the biggest issue with EduWriter.ai: instead of a 5-page essay, we got a little over 400 words. To get more, we’d have to pay for the tool’s premium version. So, don’t believe EduWriter’s deceptive marketing—it’s not free. Further research revealed other issues with the service, so keep reading.

EduWriter.ai Ease of Use: How Convenient Is the Tool?

To even try using EduWriter.ai, you will have to create an account, but the process is quick and straightforward, so this isn’t too inconvenient. Still, there are a few AI writing tools out there you can use even as a guest; having to create an account already makes EduWriter.ai less user-friendly than those.

Also, once you enter the paper details and instructions and have your paper generated (which only takes a few seconds), it’s downloaded automatically. The document includes an APA-formatted title page, in-text citations, and a bibliography. That comes in handy if you’re using the tool for academic assignments.

At the same time, not being able to edit and rewrite the text before you download it is one of EduWriter.ai’s critical flaws. We aren’t sure what informed this particular choice on the creators’ side, but it doesn’t make the tool easier to use—quite the contrary, actually. It would make more sense to give users a chance to work on the generated paper in the on-site editor first.

EduWriter.ai’s Customer Support Team

EduWriter.ai’s customer support leaves much to be desired as well. The website does have a live chat, but to find it, you need to scroll all the way down and find the Contact Us link at the very bottom of the page. This isn’t obvious; we can see why a few commenters online mention being unable to contact the EduWriter.ai support team.

And yet, that’s the smallest issue with the service’s support. Once you finally locate the live chat, you are asked to wait for an agent before you can even ask your question. Don’t bother—based on our experience, you might end up waiting forever. There’s an email address and a phone number as well; you have a higher chance of having your issue resolved if you use one of those.

Don’t expect quick responses, though. We aren’t sure about the phone number, as we couldn’t reach the support over the phone despite having tried multiple times. We eventually wrote an email, but the response took another two hours or so. If you want a service you can rely on when you need a paper ASAP, you’re better off with something other than EduWriter.

If customer support is a priority, consider MyEssayWriter.AI. They're known for their responsive and helpful service, and you can learn more in the MyEssayWriter.AI review.

EduWriter.ai’s Quality of Writing: Is It Any Good?

EduWriter’s writing quality is mediocre at best, but that’s the case for most AI writing tools. Don’t expect much, and you won’t be disappointed. The essay we received was well-structured, and all the in-text citations were formatted correctly (as were the references on the References page). However, that’s where the tool’s strengths end.

The essay we received lacked critical thinking and originality. All the arguments were surface-level and underdeveloped. You would have to expand each of the paragraphs (which were too short, by the way) if you cared at all about the quality of the paper you were going to submit.

Also, if you hope that the EduWriter.ai Pro version (the so-called ‘Premium’) offers higher writing quality, you will be disappointed. It allows you to generate more than one page a day and increases your chances of getting a quick response from the support team. Sadly, it doesn’t affect the quality.

EduWriter.ai’s Prices and Additional Features

Once again, if you see a review that claims that EduWriter.ai is a free tool, don’t believe it. When you use the free version, you can only generate one page of text a day (about 400 words, including the title page and the bibliography). So, to be able to write a 5-page essay using EduWriter without paying, you would need five days. There are AI tools with much higher daily limits, including ChatGPT.

So, how much will the premium version of EduWriter.ai set you back? The answer is between $11 and $19 a month, depending on whether you pay monthly or annually. If you do decide to pay for EduWriter.ai Premium, we recommend starting with one month. Although it’s more expensive, you will at least have a chance to test the service thoroughly before deciding if you want to pay over $130 for it. Based on our experience, you will soon find that it’s not worth it.

EssayHub Ranks Among the Top 3 Best Writing Services

Human Editors’ Services

EduWrite AI has a feature that most other AI writing services don’t: you can hire human editors to have your AI-generated essay rewritten so that it can pass an AI content detector and fix all of its flaws. At first glance, it seems like a smart solution, considering that EduWriter’s editing services are still cheaper than hiring a professional writer to write a paper for you from scratch.

However, in reality, the edited paper you get isn’t worth almost $8 per page (on top of the subscription price if you choose to pay for EduWriter.ai Premium). There are a few great academic writing services with prices per page starting at about $10, especially if you order in advance. The quality of writing you get from those is much higher than what you can expect from EduWriter’s editors. We had our essay edited, and the final draft was still underwhelming.

How Does EduWriter.ai Compare to Other AI Writing Tools?

We’ve checked dozens of different AI writing tools to keep our readers informed. Despite the positive EduWriter reviews you can find on the service’s website, we found EduWriter.ai to be one of the worst AI writing tools we’ve ever used. The low quality of writing, very limited daily word count available to free users, and the fact that you can’t even work on your paper in an on-site editor make EduWriter.ai inconvenient and overpriced.

If you’re looking for a decent AI writing tool, there are plenty of better alternatives. We recommend you try EssayService AI, PaperTyper AI, or ChatGPT. The first two are cheaper than EduWriter.ai, and the writing quality they offer is higher. GPT-4 is a little more expensive, but even the free 3.5 version is better than EduWriter.

Originality of the Texts Generated Using EduWriter.ai

We’ve seen a couple of commenters asking, “Is EduWriter safe?” because of the plagiarism concerns surrounding all AI writing tools. If that’s something you’re also concerned about, don’t be. AI writing tools can never generate a paper with fresh ideas, but they don’t deliver unoriginal content detectable by plagiarism-checking tools, either.

That being said, we recommend you check every text you write using AI writing tools for plagiarism before submitting. Seeing how serious schools are about academic integrity these days, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Also, when you’re using tools like EduWriter.ai, which adds in-text citations and references to the papers they generate, it’s better to double-check every source. Misattributed quotes and other mistakes in referencing are sometimes considered plagiarism, too.

EduWriter.ai’s Pros and Cons

Normally, we encourage our readers to test the tools and services we’re writing about, even if we don’t rate them highly. It’s always better to form your own opinion. However, EduWriter.ai is so disappointing that we can’t even do that; we can almost guarantee that you will find it as underwhelming as we have. Still, let’s summarize our experience in the form of a list of EduWriter.ai’s pros and cons.

Pros:
  • ✅ Although it’s very limited, EduWriter.ai does have a free version
  • ✅ EduWriter.ai automatically includes in-text citations and references in the paper it generates
  • ✅ You can hire human editors to work on the paper you generated
Cons:
  • ❌ EduWriter.ai’s poor writing quality doesn’t match the price
  • ❌ Hiring an editor is almost as expensive as ordering a from-scratch paper from a traditional academic writing service
  • ❌ The tool isn’t as convenient as most competitors
  • ❌ If you’re using the free version, it’s nearly impossible to get in touch with customer support

Is EduWriter legit?

Can I rely on it for school assignments?EduWriter is a legitimate AI writing tool, meaning that you won’t get scammed for money. However, because of the poor writing quality and other massive flaws, we wouldn’t recommend relying on it for your school assignments.

Is EduWriter.ai free?

EduWriter.ai has a free version, but you can only generate one page of text unless you’re willing to pay. That’s not enough to write most of your school assignments, so the majority of people will likely get frustrated and end up paying for EduWriter.ai Premium.

Are the papers generated using EduWriter.ai original?

The papers generated using EduWriter.ai contain little to no outright plagiarism detectable by plagiarism-checking tools. However, the arguments and ideas voiced in them aren’t really original. This is true for all AI writing tools, though.

Do I need to fact-check the papers written using EduWriter.ai?

Yes, ideally, you should fact-check every paper you write using AI writing tools, including EduWriter.ai. It’s not uncommon for AI tools to make factual mistakes, confuse data, and misattribute quotes.

Does it make sense to hire EduWriter.ai’s human editors?

No, EduWriter.ai editors’ services cost almost as much as cheap from scratch academic writing services. It makes more sense to use those instead of paying both for the EduWriter.ai subscription and EduWriter’s editors.

Is EduWriter.ai the best AI writing tool?

EduWriter.ai is one of the worst AI writing tools we’ve come across. Its downsides, such as poor writing quality and a small daily word count limit for free users, outweigh its strengths by far.

They lure you in with the 'free' version, but it's useless. The essays are generic, and the editing service is a rip-off.
