Our Ordering Experience & Paper Quality

To write our StudyCrumb review, we placed an order to write a five-page college essay for an e-commerce class. Even though we selected the longest deadline possible (14 days), it cost us $89.55. All the extras would have increased the order total to $173.28, for the record.

We appreciated some things about the ordering process, like the order form’s intuitiveness and the ability to attach files. But still, we also had a couple of bones to pick with the service. First, even though the website states that you don’t need to create an account, we did, in fact, have to create one before gaining access to the order form.

Second, we couldn’t select our writer ourselves. StudyCrumb is upfront about it, and you might prefer it. However, it took around an hour for the platform to assign a writer to our order (in line with the information on the website). If your order is urgent, that can pose a problem, though.

While we received our essay on time, its quality wasn’t quite stellar. The topic, live streaming marketing for online retail, was addressed without any examples or stats. To be fair, the number of sources met our requirements, though.

Customer Support

You can reach StudyCrumb’s customer support in three ways. One, you can call its phone support, which is a plus if you prefer to talk to a representative directly. Two, you can drop a line in the live chat. Three, you can fill out a contact form, although this channel doesn’t have any obvious advantages over the live chat.

We often reach out to the live chat with a question on the available payment methods to test the responsiveness of the customer support team. We received the first response (a simple “Hi there!”) almost immediately, within less than 30 seconds. However, the rest of the response took a bit of time to arrive—we got it after several minutes of waiting.

Overall, though, the response was prompt enough, and the support agent made an effort to offer us help in placing the order itself. On top of that, the agent was polite, and her responses didn’t contain any typos or mistakes.

Who Are StudyCrumb Writers?

For our StudyCrumb review, we looked through the whole website, trying to find some information on the writers behind the platform. However, the website doesn’t showcase any of its writers.

The company only states that it connects you with “North American writers” on the main page. It also describes its hiring process on the About Us page, but we’d have to take its word on the number of applications and other figures:

In the FAQ section, StudyCrumb claims that 80% of its writers are native English speakers. Other screening criteria include three years of professional experience and a university degree:

However, since a writer gets assigned to your order automatically after you pay, you don’t really have an opportunity to ensure your helper is an expert in your field. StudyCrumb also has a cohort of Premium writers whose services cost 25% more.

On the bright side, however, you can talk to your assigned expert and browse their profile. Our helper, Howard M., responded promptly to our messages.

Is StudyCrumb Expensive? Pricing & Discount Breakdown

Overall, StudyCrumb’s per-page rates are somewhat elevated. Here are the starter rates for different types of services:
- Writing: $15.15/page
- Rewriting: $9.09/page
- Editing: $4.55/page
- AI humanization: $10.61/page

As for the extra fees, there are some bad surprises we quickly found on the website. For one, the plagiarism report costs a whopping $19.99:

- AI report: +10% of the per-page rate
- Draft preview: +5%
- Premium writer: +25%
- Extra quality check: +20%

As for discounts, we stumbled upon the offer for the draft preview feature, which would bring down the price from $10 + 10% to $5 + 5%. And that made us wonder: why is there a discrepancy between the base price for draft previewing in the offer and the Prices page?

After tinkering with the order form, we calculated the actual prices for extras for our five-page college essay writing order:
- AI report: +15.6%
- Draft preview: +10.6%

As you can see, all these extras increase the order total almost twofold!

P.S. There was also a discrepancy between the number of words on a page. The order form states 275 words, and the Prices page – 300.

What About Revisions?

While we couldn’t find any StudyCrumb reviews specifically mentioning the platform’s revision policy, we read the fine print as we usually do. The policy, outlined in the Terms and Conditions, matches the statements on the website.

Overall, you can ask for free revisions within 14 days for orders under 5,500 words and 30 days for papers longer than that. If you miss this deadline, you’ll have to pay for the revisions.

Of course, your requests have to align with the initial instructions presented in the form.

Our little investigation into the revision policy revealed a significant drawback, however. StudyCrumb states that its writers require at least 24 hours to introduce revisions. This can be problematic if your order is already urgent and you can’t afford to wait another 24 hours for the edits to be made.

So, while the policy meets the industry standards overall, you’ll have to factor in the waiting time for revisions if you ever decide to ask for them.

A Word About StudyCrumb’s Deadlines

StudyCrumb allows you to select any deadline with the shortest turnaround possible, amounting to three hours. That said, the lowest per-page rates apply to orders due in 14 or more days, so make sure to consider that if your budget is tight.

But can you trust StudyCrumb to have your order ready on time? Our first-hand experience fell in line with the customer feedback we found online: we got our essay on time.

That said, as the platform states itself, you can’t expect a doctoral dissertation to be delivered within hours. You can always reach out to customer support if you’re not sure whether your paper can be ready within your desired timeframe.

Besides that, keep in mind that it may take around an hour to have a writer assigned to your order. Plus, once again, revisions take at least 24 hours.

Plagiarism & AI Content

StudyCrumb’s Plagiarism and AI Policy was somewhat confusing to read. It states that for the AI humanization orders, the acceptable originality and AI content rates are under 10%. However, for the rest of the orders, it seems that you need to explicitly specify that you need plagiarism and AI content rates to be under 10% within the order form:

You’re also on the hook for providing access to checkers if they are paid. The fact that both plagiarism and AI reports are paid (and expensive) also doesn’t help StudyCrumb’s credibility in this department.

We specified that our essay should meet the 10% benchmark for both plagiarism and AI content rates. Once we got the order, we ran the checks on it with the same tools we mentioned in the form, GPTZero for AI content and Grammarly for plagiarism. They showed an 8% plagiarism rate and a 9% AI content rate, which was acceptable.

StudyCrumb at a Glance: Pros and Cons

Overall, Study Crumb doesn’t quite hit the ball out of the park when it comes to academic help services. While its customer support and ordering experience are good, the price-quality ratio leaves much to be desired, and other drawbacks may spoil your experience even further.

Here are the platform’s pros and cons based on our little investigation:
