What Is Duplichecker, and What Does It Have to Offer?
Duplichecker has been around for quite a while. Actually, it’s going to celebrate its two decades on the market in 2026. Seeing what people post about Duplichecker online, we can say it has earned quite a solid reputation. After all, it has a 4.3 rating on TrustPilot.
That could’ve been the end of the story; however, if your profession is to review online services, you know that longevity and great reviews may mean absolutely nothing. But before we figure out whether Duplichecker corresponds to the high praise it has been given by past users, let’s figure out what the service has to offer.
As the name suggests, it checks for duplicates. To be more precise, its main attraction is the plagiarism checker. But that’s not the only thing that Duplichecker has to offer. It has a paraphrasing tool and an AI detector.
Most of the customers seem to be fond of it. However, you can find some negative comments here and there. So, let’s check how everything works.

Is Duplichecker Plagiarism Checker Trustworthy or Just Average?
Given that the plagiarism checking tool is the main attraction of Duplichecker, we decided to test it first. And we can’t say that we were disappointed. The tool easily figures out which part of the text is plagiarized and provides you with the sources of the plagiarized content.
Unlike most plagiarism checkers, Duplichecker doesn’t pick on common phrases like “it was alright” or “he/she would say.” Some checkers do pick on those phrases, which lowers your text’s uniqueness. Duplichecker focuses on the big picture.
There are certain limitations, however: if you are using the tool for free, you can check up to 1000 words per session. If you want to increase the number of words to 30,000 words, you can upgrade to a paid account, which will cost you just $10 per month.
Of course, if you need more, you can opt for the Pro X, which will cost you $100 per month and will allow you to check up to 600,000 words. But even the free version is good enough. We’re going to talk about other features, such as the grammar checker, in the following sections.
Is Duplichecker AI Detector as Good as Its Plagiarism Checker?
When going through Duplichecker reviews, we found a few praising the plagiarism checker but complaining about the tool’s AI detection capabilities. Unfortunately, we have to agree with them.
Not that Duplichecker AI detector is bad. We’ve seen far worse. We’ve seen detectors that would identify human-written text as AI-generated, and vice versa. Things like that don’t happen when you use Duplichecker. But that doesn’t mean that its AI detection tool is flawless. When using Duplichecker’s AI detector, we experienced the same thing as with multiple other detectors. It’s really good when it deals with human-written and AI-generated content separately.
Upload a human-written text, and it shows you that it’s human-written. Upload an AI-generated text, and it easily identifies it. But it struggles with mixed texts and shows dubious results. We’ve fed it with the text that was 50% human and 50% AI-generated. It identified it as 96% human-written. We tried a different text, and it identified it as 78% human.
So, Duplichecker’s AI detector is not as trustworthy as its plagiarism checker.
Is Duplichecker’s Grammar Checker Better Than Grammarly?
We can’t say that we were quite impressed by Duplichecker’s grammar checker. In many ways, it reminded us of Grammarly. Sometimes, it provides you with great suggestions and corrects your typos. Sometimes, however, it picks the wrong things. For instance, it randomly decides that you’ve meant a different word, while you’ve meant exactly what you wrote.
So, choosing between those two platforms will be hard if you focus solely on the grammar checker. But you can make up your choice by focusing on other tools and pricing.
Can you use Grammarly for free? Yes, you can. Is Duplicheker free? Well, you can use it in the free mode with certain limitations. At the same time, Grammarly’s other tools, especially its plagiarism checker, are less advanced than those of Duplichecker.
Finally, the price of the premium accounts. The starting price for Duplichecker is $10 per month, while Grammarly will cost you $12. So, opting for the former, you get a similar grammar checker, but it comes with a great plagiarism checker and a quite good AI detector for a slightly lower price.

Is It True What Duplichecker Reviews Say About Its Paraphraser?
Finally, we need to discuss a paraphrasing tool. Honestly, we have found neither praise nor complaints about it. It seems that most users simply ignore this feature of Duplichecker.
To be fair, finding a good paraphrasing tool is quite difficult. Based on our experience, they simply don’t exist. In most cases, they change original words to synonyms (suitable ones, if you are lucky) and change the sentence from active to passive voice and vice versa. So, let’s find out how good Duplichecker’s paraphrasing tool is.
The good thing about Duplichecker’s paraphraser is that even in free mode, you can paraphrase texts up to 2,000 words, while most paraphrasers offer a maximum of 500 words. However, is it any better in terms of paraphrasing? Not really.
However, it must be noted that when it comes to synonyms, Duplichecker tries to use the most suitable ones. Also, the paraphraser in free mode and the one in paid mode differ. Opt for the paid account, and you will love the AI Paraphraser. But it still requires your involvement, like all AI-powered tools do.

Summing It Up: The Benefits and Drawbacks of Using Duplichecker
Well, to end our Duplichecker review, we need to consider all the benefits and disadvantages of the platform. So, Duplichecker has been on the market for almost two decades, and when it comes to plagiarism checks, it delivers. It detects plagiarism better than most tools out there without picking on general phrases.
It also offers an AI detector, which pales in comparison with the plagiarism checker. However, it doesn’t misidentify AI-generated content as human-written content and vice versa. Yet, like all AI detectors, it struggles with mixed texts.
Duplichecker’s grammar checker is nothing special, while the paraphrasing tool fares better. Still, nothing that Duplichecker has to offer can top its plagiarism checker. Given its more than reasonable pricing, Duplichecker can truly be a good option for our readers.
