EssayBot is rated 2.8 stars based on 26 reviews on review sites, indicating most buyers are dissatisfied. The common complaint is the long turnaround time. It is ranked 24th among essay writing sites. According to research, EssayBot scored 2.8 out of 5.0, suggesting it is not very reliable and offers below-average paper quality.

Our Findings
.webp)
With the rising popularity of ChatGPT and such in academic writing help, we couldn’t overlook EssayBot. And let us spoil you the ending a bit: we were disappointed with what we’d found there.
EssayBot is an AI writing tool that delivers paraphrased material from academic sources based on the entered topic. Yes, that’s exactly right: it doesn’t really generate unique texts. It just rewrites existing content to make it unique!
This made us question whether this tool is a reliable helper after all. And judging from our experience, it’s not. It can’t replace the skills of a professional academic writer, and it’s not a reliable AI-powered writing assistant, either – especially considering its price tag.
Once we dug deeper into the Essay Bot reviews, we saw a bunch of other problems customers ran into. Those included unresponsive customer support, poor text quality, missing references, or non-adherence to conventional paper structure.
Now, is Essay Bot legal? Well, yes, but you may still get in trouble if your school bans AI-generated texts. Plenty of tools can detect AI’s involvement, and penalties can range from an F and a warning to academic probation and expulsion.
All in all, this tool isn’t worth your time or money. It’s best not to expect to get a quality paper with proper formatting and citations out of it. Students may get in hot water for using it. Plus, should you run into any sort of trouble, don’t count on customer support to help you.

What Is EssayBot & How Does It Work?
.webp)
EssayBot is meant to be a ChatGPT-like tool geared specifically toward helping students with academic writing. Here’s how it works:
- You enter a topic to start drafting your paper.
- The tool searches its academic database for relevant material and paraphrases it into paragraphs. Those paragraphs get automatically added to the draft.
- You can edit your draft right in the browser or use grammar and plagiarism checkers without leaving the platform.
- To download your generated paper, you’ll need to create an account.
EssayBot also comes with several additional tools you can use in your writing process. Those include a plagiarism checker, citation generator, writing suggestions, and grammar checker.
How Good Is EssayBot’s Customer Service?
.webp)
We decided to try to get a hold of customer support anyway. We asked whether using this AI tool would be illegal for a hypothetical Harvard University student. But we’ll never know the company’s opinion on the matter: all we got was an automated email saying it received our query.
Student reviews on SiteJabber cemented our opinion on customer service. As they often mentioned unresponsive customer support that ignored questions or complaints, we realized that our case wasn’t an outlier: it was normal.
AI Replacing Human Writers?
.webp)

EssayBot also added several quotes without citing them properly during our testing. This led to an 84% uniqueness score in one case.
The tool’s paraphrasing is hardly sophisticated: every other word is replaced with a synonym. It’s good enough for passing Turnitin, but the text comes across as wooden and awkward. Your professor will easily deduce the paper wasn’t written by a human being.
The generated content is also hardly full of in-depth insights into academic sources on the topic. At best, it’ll contain the basic information from the first page of Google search results.
Is Essay Bot free to use, you may wonder? No. Unlike most of its rivals in the AI writing tool market, it doesn’t even offer a free trial: you have to pay at least $2.49 for seven days!
EssayBot Pricing: Is It Worth Your Money?
.webp)

What’s worse, the trial period is paid! It’ll cost you $2.49 for seven days. Subscription fees themselves depend on the period you choose:
‍
- $2.49 for a trial week. Yes, you’ve read it correctly – a paid trial
- $9.95 per month
- $24.95 per quarter
- $45.90 for half a year
- $59.40 for a year
What About Revisions?
.webp)
‍
EssayBot offers some tools that, in theory, make the revising process easier. But they are quite basic, so you’ll need to do all the heavy lifting yourself. And there’s plenty of it to do: poorly selected synonyms render some sentences incomprehensible.
The grammar checker, in our opinion, is so basic that you’d be better off using Grammarly or LanguageTool instead. The in-built tool can catch typos and common mistakes like “your” instead of “you’re”. But unlike Grammarly, it doesn’t provide suggestions for clarity, correct capitalization, or removing redundancy.
How Fast Do You Get Papers?
.webp)
So, take into account the time to proofread and edit the generated text. You may also need to regenerate some paragraphs. Making sure your paper is coherent, concise, and error-free can take hours, especially considering the low quality of the generated text.
Plus, you’ll need to do formatting and citations yourself. While the platform offers a citation tool, it can’t save a lot of time since you have to double-check all the other formatting conventions.
All of the above makes us wonder whether EssayBot is a scam – or just a poorly executed idea.
EssayBot’s Plagiarism Tool: Efficient or Useless?
.webp)
Keep in mind: EssayBot doesn’t create new, original works with proper sourcing. Instead, it pulls whole paragraphs from other sources and replaces words with synonyms. It’s enough to pass the plagiarism checks, but the text quality is abhorrent – and lacks originality.
How illegal is EssayBot? Well, you will probably pass Turnitin since the tool manages to generate plagiarism-free texts. But if you don’t take great care editing the paper, you risk getting caught red-handed if the professor runs a check on it with GPTZero or another app.
To Sum Up: EssayBot’s Pros & Cons
.webp)
In our opinion, they shouldn’t. Users won’t get quality work in exchange for an unreasonably high price tag.
