KingEssays has a rating of 4.9 based on 71 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. These customers most frequently mention the high order quality and excellent customer service. KingEssays is currently ranked 51st among essay writing sites.

The platform’s history remains a mystery as its website doesn’t have an About Us page. So, while we know that its offices are in London, UK, there’s not much more we can tell you about how long KingEssays has been on the market or who’s behind it.

Although King Essays reviews are overwhelmingly positive on Sitejabber and Reviews.io, they’re few. The former platform counts only 71 reviews, while the latter can boast 52.

To see how KingEssays services fare in reality, we ordered a five-page analytical essay on utilitarianism for a philosophy class. In the order form, we selected five sources, double-line spacing, and APA formatting.

While the order form was intuitive, and we could select our writer, which we always appreciate, there was one substantial hiccup. When we got to the final page before the checkout, we saw there were no free features added to the order. However, we wanted a bibliography and title page included in the essay:

We returned to the order description and specified that we wanted the bibliography and title page to be provided with the essay. While our writer obliged, to her credit, not having a dedicated toggle or checkbox is still cumbersome.

The rest of our experience was smooth enough. After we paid for the order, we started receiving bids and settled on Jason Li, an expert with a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy. The essay was delivered on time, although it wasn’t quite as well-put as we’d expect it to be, considering the price tag.

So, is KingEssays legit? First of all, fear not: it doesn’t outright scam people. You will receive the requested service in exchange for your money. As for its quality, we’ve already spoiled it for you in this review’s title – it’s neither horrible nor outstanding. In other words, it’s passable – and, in our opinion, not quite worth the hefty price tag KingEssays puts on its services.

While our writer followed all of our requests – formatting, number of sources, etc. – the essay didn’t read quite like a paper written by a real native speaker. Some sentences were too clunky, and others had awkward phrasing.

Several words were misused, and we can only assume that the writer wasn’t aware of their meaning in English. It could be a matter of mistranslation.

The essay's contents were well-researched enough to be called analytical. While the writer didn’t go above and beyond in scouting sources, he did include them organically. Overall, the essay provided an adequate overview of utilitarianism and its key schools of thought.

Let’s start with the good news: KingEssays offers plenty of communication channels for you to choose from. You can contact support by phone or drop a message in the live chat. You can also reach out by email if you prefer.

As for phone support, KingEssays has dedicated numbers for U.S. and UK customers. This can be a significant plus if you don’t like paying a small fortune for international calls but still prefer talking to a human being over the phone when you encounter a problem.

For our KingEssays review, we contacted KingEssays’ customer support via live chat. We had to wait around 10 minutes to connect to an agent, even though it was only 6 pm – hardly the middle of the night.

That said, once the agent, Angela, got back to us, she answered our every question in enough detail to assist us. So, we’d say that KingEssays’ customer support is helpful – just, perhaps, not as responsive as it could’ve been. Well, there’s always room for improvement.

KingEssays states that its writer pool counts 400+ experts. Some of them certainly have impressive bios, as exemplified by these three pulled directly from the website’s Writers page:

Now, how does KingEssays recruit and screen its writers? Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any information on how writers are selected. In our opinion, this lack of transparency is a downside—albeit a small one.

Despite that, KingEssays’ writer bios are detailed enough to help you select the expert for your order. You can review every bidder’s reviews, degree, and order history.

The range of experts is diverse enough to help you find the right helper for your needs. However, the share of KingEssays writers with Ph.D. degrees leaves much to be desired. Most experts have Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees.

Our five-page college essay cost us $70.00. However, KingEssays fails to mention a crucial detail about its pricing on the website. The service has different types of writers, and their help comes at different price tags.

While a regular writer will craft a college essay for you at $14/page (with a deadline of 14 days), an advanced writer’s services will cost upward of $18.20/page for college essays. Premium writers’ price tag for college essays starts at $20.72/page.

What’s the difference between those writers? Advanced writers are supposed to have “much larger experience in academic writing” than regular ones. Premium writers, in turn, are “top-quality writers from an English-speaking country.”

That said, you can at least select a preferred writer at the rate of a regular one – i.e., without paying extra. You’ll need to enter their ID into the corresponding field.

Extra paid services include a plagiarism report ($9.99), an abstract page ($14.99), and a high priority assigned to the order ($14.99). However, you get revisions, the title page, a bibliography, and formatting for free.

As for discounts sometimes mentioned in KingEssays reviews, we could uncover only a promo code for a 5% discount (it’s FIRST5).

Speaking of revisions. We double-checked the claims on the KingEssays website against their policy. And yes, revisions are indeed free and unlimited. Standard rules apply to them, however: your new requests can’t contradict the initial guidelines and must be submitted within 10 days after the deadline you set for the writer.

What’s interesting about KingEssays is that, technically, it allows for revisions to be requested over the phone. That said, even the service’s policy explicitly recommends emailing or submitting requests via a personal account.

You also have the right to specify the deadline for revisions at KingEssays. If you don’t, the standard deadline of 24 hours will apply.

Having learned all of that, we decided to put KingEssays’ revision policy to the test. Since our essay contained some mistakes, we asked our writer, Jason Li, to rectify them. To his credit, as he was already online, he responded to our requests quickly. Our revisions were ready in a couple of hours.

Is KingEssays reliable when it comes to deadlines? We’re inclined to say it is. We received our order right on time, for one, and we couldn’t find any negative reviews blaming KingEssays for late delivery.

If you want to benefit from the lowest rates, prepare for a long wait. KingEssays’ starting rates apply to orders with a 14-day deadline only. The price will go up if you need your order faster.

Speaking of selecting the deadline, KingEssays doesn’t allow you as much flexibility as you may wish. You can choose from a handful of options in the order form:

So, if you need your essay to be ready in 8 days, for example, get ready to pay the rates for seven-day delivery.

On the bright side, KingEssays is one of the platforms offering three-hour order delivery.

To determine whether we should call KingEssays scam, we also decided to look into our essay’s originality rate. Two independent checks showed the essay was 89% and 87% unique, which isn’t ideal. Most educational institutions require the plagiarism rate to be under 10%, and some to be under 5%.

As for the platform’s policy on plagiarism, KingEssays promises that all writers craft papers from scratch. However, the policy doesn’t mention the specific originality rate that it can guarantee:

To its credit, however, our essay was free of AI-generated content. We checked it with two tools, CopyLeaks and ContentScale, and both deemed the essay likely to be written by a human.

KingEssays could’ve been a great platform, but it has many shortcomings. So, we can’t recommend the service in this KingEssays review.

While papers delivered by KingEssays’ regular writers aren’t outright awful, they lack something special that makes an essay engaging and well-crafted. It could be a lack of in-depth research, vocabulary, or experience on the writers’ part – we’ll never know.
