The service has a life buoy as an emblem, but some MasterPapers reviews suggest that that’s a thing that you may require after using the service. Given that the service has been on the market since 2009, the number of negative reviews is overwhelming, which triggered our interest. Can the service remain in business for over a decade when, according to some reviews, ordering from it equals heading towards an iceberg full-speed? Nothing seems off when you check out MasterPapers essay writing service’s website.

But let’s dig deeper and determine whether the service prevents you from drowning in the pool of assignments or sinks you to the bottom.

When you check out the MasterPapers’ website, everything seems intact. It claims to have over 25,000 satisfied customers. It promises that by ordering from them, you won’t have your essay crafted by a freelancer, as they have a team of expert writers. The customers’ testimonials on the website seem okay. Most users rate them five out of five stars. There are some three-star reviews, mainly because the QA team had to rewrite the initial paper. It seems quite legit.

Yet, things take a drastic turn when you check the reviews elsewhere. You see, it’s not just one negative MasterPapers review; there are many of them. If you go to SiteJabber and opt for 1-star reviews, you’ll see 45. The worst services that we’ve checked used to have 20 1-star reviews maximum. So, what is the reason behind the overwhelming number of negative reviews? Do the service’s writers lack expertise? Is the support service unresponsive or rude? Are the prices too high?

Just like with MyAdmissionsEssay reviews and WritePaperForMe reviews, the picture became clearer when we started checking out the MasterPapers’ website and got our essay. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

You open up the service’s website, and you’re welcomed by the subscription form that provides you with all the information, like prices and deadlines. If you scroll down, you can find a lot of promises of top quality, discounts for regular customers, zero plagiarism, free revisions, a money-back guarantee, and complete confidentiality. But the first thing off with the service is split in two, so it’s not visible immediately.

The header proudly states that MasterPapers has been providing high quality since 2009. The footer, however, claims that the service has been active since 2004. Apparently, MasterPapers essays weren’t of high quality before 2009. That’s the only explanation that we can find. MasterPapers offers help with essays of various types, as well as with term papers and even dissertations.

Based on the site's claim, the expert writers cover over forty subjects. However, if you check the negative reviews, the expert writers can fail in every subject and every type of paper. The essay on prison literature that we ordered from the service helped us to see where those negative comments were coming from. But there are more problems with the service than its writers. So, let’s dig into it.

Some Master Papers reviews highlight challenging communication with the support team, so we had to check it out. The live chat option is on every page, handy if you find yourself lost on the service’s website. When you click on the live chat, you have two options: returning client and first timer. We chose the latter, as we wondered what the support service has to say regarding the negative comments about MasterPapers. As usual, we’ve been told that the service's competitors wrote negative reviews. Yet, the support agent asked us about the platforms where we found the reviews.

The answer was rather typical for essay writing services, so we asked a different question: why is there a difference in the information on the year of the site’s launch? “Romeo” told us that the site was launched in 2004. Yet, when we asked him why the main page claimed it was established in 2009, “Romeo” had no idea. It seems that our guess that MasterPapers wasn’t providing paper of top-notch quality before 2009 wasn’t that far-fetched. 

The support service is responsive, at least for first-timers, but not helpful when answering our quirky questions. Similar to the situation highlighted in the EssayShark review, this aspect disappointed us a bit.

According to the service, it has more than 1200 expert writers. There are two options: you can either place an order, and the service will provide you with a writer with relevant expertise in the field, or you can hire one of the top writers displayed in the “Writers” section. Checking the section, we run into one oddity. While things are okay with Abel Coleman, Barbara Miller, and Emily Walker, something is seriously wrong with Jerry Adams. Is it Jerry Adams or Neil Jenkins? Who are you even hiring?

But to check MasterPapers writing, we let the service select an author. Their pick seemed like an ideal writer for our paper on prison literature - a professor of literature. But we got disillusioned quickly. We provided detailed instructions that the essay must compare imprisoned authors who described their life during incarceration in their works and those who used art as escapism during their sentences. And we listed the authors that need to be examined.

Even though the writer and the customer can communicate directly, the writer contacted us only once. One day before the deadline, he said he needed more time to finish the essay. Finally, two days past the deadline, we got an essay that focused on works of fiction about the prison but not written by imprisoned authors…

We were surprised that there’s nothing on the MasterPapers prices page of the service. The site was probably under maintenance at the time of writing. But after toying with the order form for some time, we figured out the pricing. So, the lowest price for the high school essay is $14.59 per page with a 30-day refund. If you need it in one hour, the cost will rise to $42.78 per page.

And there’s an extra fee for additional options, like selecting a top writer, plagiarism check, abstract, etc. You don’t know about them until you pass the first two steps of making the order.

The company offers a 15% discount on your first order, and you can get 5% off on every following order. Other discounts pop up here and there, but as there is no clear information on them, we present you with what we could get from the FAQ section.

You can request a full refund within two weeks after purchasing the order if the delivered paper doesn’t correspond to initial instructions or contains plagiarism (funny for a service that offers plagiarism-free papers). There are no partial refunds for the delayed delivery.

Considering how good our professor of literature was with our essay, we were glad to learn that the revisions were free. You can request as many revisions as you want before you click “download.” It is no big deal if you figure out something is wrong with your paper after downloading it. You can request free revisions within two weeks after finalizing the purchase of your essay. Here, we need to expand a bit on the quality of the paper we got.

Besides misunderstanding the instructions and not asking for clarification, the writing style was odd. We ordered an undergraduate essay, and the delivered paper had a high-school feel. We notified the author that he needs to revise the paper, which doesn’t correspond to the initial instructions. It took several hours for him to reply, saying he needed one more day to do the necessary revisions.

We got the revised version within one day, and we bet that somebody else from MasterPapers writing service revised it. We got a completely rewritten paper containing most of the necessary information. And it had a proper style. The only problem was that this time, the paper focused on two works: Jack Abbott’s “In the Belly of the Beast” and Behrouz Boochani's “No Friends But the Mountains”.

There are several deadline options on MasterPapers. For most of the paper types, the minimum deadline is one hour. This is odd, as the number of pages is not reflected in the deadline, and it is hard to believe that someone or even a team of writers can craft a 10-page essay within one hour. The maximum deadline, the one we opted for when placing our order, is 30 days.

Things are pretty different when you are ordering a dissertation. In this case, the minimum deadline is 48 hours, while the maximum is two months. We must note that many reviewers complain about the service missing the deadlines, and that’s the issue we faced with our order. Yes, the topic of the essay was rather difficult, but one month is enough to craft it, especially for a service that hires only top writers.

The service claims it provides plagiarism-free papers and doesn’t work with freelancers. It also claims that it checks all the papers for plagiarism before notifying the user that the order is completed. At the same time, plagiarized content is one of the reasons for a full refund.

Those pieces of information contradict one another. If a customer can find plagiarized content in the paper, it means that the service didn’t check it. And if the service did check it, how can a customer request a refund based on plagiarism? We ran the paper through several checkers. And the paper contained approximately 10% of plagiarized content. Not bad, but we need to consider that you won’t find much information on the books mentioned in the paper online.

And still, while we’ve seen paper writing services with worse results, 10% of plagiarized material is in no way the promised “zero plagiarism.”

MasterPapers has a responsive support team, but they don’t know why the service cannot decide when it was launched. Honest web designer’s mistake? There’s an option of direct communication with writers, but it was mostly fruitless in our case.

The mixed-up biographies of the top writers make the service look shady. The prices are more or less adequate if you don’t need an essay urgently. Still, everything is fair, with unlimited revisions and a refund policy.
