Users mention long waits for customer service and poor quality of work. BestEssays is ranked 41th among essay writing sites, with a score of 3.6 out of 5.0 in research.

The service was launched in 1997 and is focused on providing assistance with academic writing. According to their website, it has over 400 writers, over 300 orders per day, and a 94% satisfaction rate.

Seems legit, but if you check out the 1-star Best Essays reviews on, say, SiteJabber, you can see another picture. Commentators complain about cases of service canceling work on their orders without notification, plagiarized papers, and essays requiring numerous revisions to be readable. We’ve decided to investigate the service on our own to provide an in-depth review of BestEssays.

At first glance, nothing seems off with BestEssays’ website. Despite the fact that the service was launched in 1997, the website doesn’t have an outdated design. It surely was updated several times to keep in touch with time.

The website’s main page cheerfully assures you that it has the best writers and offers you to entrust your papers to them.

The website always suggests something that you might need. There is a pop-up window to get in touch with the support team. Another pop-up window notifies you that you can get your first order with a 15% discount. And there are more pop-ups. While they seem useful at first, they start irritating you pretty quickly.

But, hey, pop-ups are not a big problem if everything else functions properly. In this BestEssays review, we must conclude that the site is not that comfortable. It’s really difficult to find things that you may need. There’s even a sitemap option, which ended up not being that useful at all.

And there’s one confusing thing about the number of writers working for the service, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s have a more detailed look at the service.

Some Best Essays reviews mentioned dissatisfaction with the communication with the customer support representatives, citing that they were rude or unresponsive. To check that, we’ve pretended to be a prospective customer who’s a bit hesitant about ordering a paper because of the negative reviews online.

Instead of a direct chat, you have to enter your name and specify whether you have problems with placing an order or with an existing order. For some reason, Tina decided to redirect us to Regie to “better assist” us. And we had to repeat our question all over again for Regie.

Regie doesn’t ask us for clarification, like what comments we are talking about and so on. They simply state that they have a wonderful reputation solidified by years in the industry and that all the negative comments are coming from competitors.

The agent doesn’t provide us with an explanation that some customers may be unsatisfied with the order and react to it in a very emotional way. Besides, going through 1-star reviews on SiteJabber, it’s hard to believe that those comments are written by BestEssays’ competitors. All in all, the customer service responded fast, but we were left unsatisfied with it.

There’s something confusing about the number of writers, and multiple BestEssays.com reviews pointed that out. It shows 435 writers in one section of the website, while if you check the writers’ section, you’ll learn that the service has over 500 authors.

When you check the writers, you see that they have ID numbers instead of names. They have short bios that can help you understand if this writer is suitable for your task or not. But considering the 429296’s bio, we are not sure if you should entrust your paper to the alumni of the XXX University. If you google the said institution, the search results are not directly related to education.

There’s an option to choose the particular writer, but given their brief biographies, it’s really hard to tell how professional they are. Alternatively, you can place the order, and the service will select a writer for you.

You can chat with the writer directly, and if you enjoy working with them, you can save their ID and hire them for your next orders. Communication with our writer was plagued with delayed replies, and it wasn’t much of a help for our essay.

You won’t find a lot of complaints about the revision policy in Best Essays reviews. There were complaints about the revisions not really helping — our case, but nothing was said about the revisions themselves. The policy of this platform is similar to the one we mentioned in the StudyMoose review.

The customer is provided with free revisions if they request them within fourteen days after receiving the paper. And you can request as many revisions as you want until you are completely satisfied with the finished result. If you missed the deadline, however, you can request revision for additional cost.

There’s one tricky thing about revisions that we’ve found in BestEssays’ Terms & Conditions. You can request revisions if the paper doesn’t correspond to the initial instructions. If the revision request “violates original instructions,” the QA department has a right to decline it.

So, we were lucky to request them right after receiving the paper because the writer failed to follow our original instructions. Too bad that didn’t help our paper in the end.

Going through reviews about BestEssays, we came across several complaints regarding missed deadlines. Of course, things like that happen from time to time, but there were several reviews stating that being late with delivery is a common practice for the service. Yet, BestEssays promises to refund the cost difference (up to 20%) in case of late delivery.

The minimum deadline is three hours, and that’s quite impressive. We came across several comments about dissatisfaction with paying for the three-hour deadline and receiving the order late. The maximum deadline for all papers is 10 days.

Deadlines are different for dissertations. The minimum deadline is five days, while the maximum one is two months.

The length of your paper, regardless of its type, is reflected in the deadline. If you want a 10-page essay in three hours, you won’t get one. The deadline for that length is 24 hours.

The reviews for BestEssays.com contain complaints about plagiarized content in the ordered papers. There are wild claims like the paper being 100% plagiarized, but there are quite adequate comments that the paper wasn’t as unique as a customer would expect it to be. When ordering an essay for our investigation, we didn’t request a plagiarism report (just like when working on PaperCoach reviews material), as we wanted to check the paper on our own. And here, an interesting thing happened.

The first version of the paper contained 10% of plagiarized material. Then, the percentage of plagiarism grew with every revision. It was quite easy to trace the works that the writer copied.

However, BestEssays is protected from plagiarism accusations. In the Terms & Conditions, the service states that the papers they produce may contain plagiarized material and cannot be submitted as such. Well, at least they are being fair and don’t promise 100% uniqueness.

At first glance, everything looks great: 25 years on the market, rave customer reviews, and a 24/7 support team. Yet, the prices are too high. The quality of the papers doesn’t correspond to the prices. The support service blames all the negative comments on the competitors, and the Terms & Conditions bluntly state the papers may not be unique.
