It all sounds extremely impressive on their main page, but we must conduct our assessment to confirm or deny those claims. This is how we operate.

To start our review, we tested the free services first. TestingMom offers free cognitive games and free practice questions for any test, which is very convenient. You can use the service even if you can’t afford the paid version. However, you must sign up and give them your zip code to access those free questions. Unfortunately, the company also sends you several promotional emails right after you give them your email address.

We signed up for the CogAT and used their free questions to start. The questions were varied, interesting and pretty close to the actual thing. The educational games were also very entertaining and immersive. Playing games has proven efficient for test prep, and it’s great to see big companies like TestingMom use this strategy.

The service also offers private and group tutoring sessions and live online classes. To sign up for one-on-one tutoring, you must schedule a call with a counselor to determine your child’s goals and needs. Then, you will be connected to a tutor that will meet those needs. We chose the youngest-looking researcher in our team to test the one-on-one lessons. The teacher was knowledgeable enough, patient with us and took their time to explain everything. Overall, it was a good experience!

On Trustpilot, TestingMom has 1300+ reviews with a 4.9 rating. That’s quite impressive! However, when you look closer, it turns out that they haven’t received a single bad review in 8 months. But when you go to Sitejabber, the picture looks entirely different.

On Sitejabber, they have 3.03 stars with just 29 reviews. Most users who left reviews on SiteJabber are unhappy with the service. They cite the following reasons for their low grades:

• Not helpful questions
• Trying to upsell you at checkout

Overall, they paid people to leave positive reviews on TrustPilot and ignore SiteJabber altogether. Most negative reviews on SiteJabber are left unanswered, and people are mad there. The support team at TestingMom has not left the best impression on us. TestingMom com reviews about customer support were unsatisfactory, so we had to test them carefully. First of all, you cannot contact them immediately. They have strict working hours and do not accept calls after those hours.

What’s good, though, is that they will call you back if you leave them a voicemail. The chatbot icon in the bottom right corner of the screen opens an email contact form. Unfortunately, live chat is not available. And after you send a message, it says they will contact you back in a few hours. We only heard back from them four hours later. What if my child needed immediate assistance? Nevertheless, the answers we got were satisfactory. They did not seem like slightly edited templates, but instead, like real people took their time to read and answer our questions.

When you reach the support team on the phone, they are respectful and nice. However, it does take quite a while for them to answer the phone. Also, the support agent we talked to seemed eager to finish the conversation. We get it; they are busy, but that wasn’t nice.

As of the time of this review, TestingMom offers three types of subscriptions - 3, 6, and 12-month ones. Testing Mom membership cost varies depending on the type you choose. The three-month one costs $35.07, 6 months with TestingMom will cost you %59.34, and a year of using their services will be $97.09. They also sometimes offer a lifetime subscription that lasts ten years. The price is not available right now because it’s a limited and inactive offer.

However, many reviewers cited the problem with these subscriptions: the site adds additional services to your membership and charges you for them if you don’t read the fine print.

They also offer many one-time services like mini-assessments for test prep and flash card packages. Honestly, flashcards should not cost $30 when you can use an app like Quizlet for free.

Also, all charges are billed automatically, and to unsubscribe, you need to contact the service at help@testingmom.com or send a written notice of termination to their physical address in Texas. The policy also claims you can cancel your subscription through your account, but that option is not much easier. The company makes severing ties with them very hard.

The short answer is no, you can’t. We bought a three-month subscription to make our TestingMom review objective and fair. If you cancel it immediately, you still maintain access to all the materials until the membership time runs out. However, your card will be billed automatically if you don’t cancel it in time, and the company will not give you any notice one or two days before billing you.

Many reviewers online stated that when they tried to get their money back for the subscription they didn’t want anymore, they couldn't. Moreover, the support team did not help them at all. One reviewer even said the support agent mocked her. We can’t attest to this statement, but that’s what people say.

The terms and conditions claim you cannot get a refund in any circumstances, which is very unfortunate. Since this service is mostly used by parents trying to provide better education for their children, it’s extremely unfair that the company would take advantage of those people. They may not be as tech-savvy as their children, and not clearly stating the company’s terms can be considered poor business practices.

We noticed a few red flags during our review of the company’s terms. First, some subscriptions have a “results guaranteed” stamp. Those subscriptions are the more expensive ones. At the same time, the terms of use claim that the company cannot be held responsible for the test results a user gets, which is quite fair considering that grades are subjective and many factors come into play when a test gets graded. However, that ‘guarantee’ is extremely misleading, especially if a user has not read the terms, which, let's be real, nobody does.

Also, there’s one paragraph that claims that some of the content on the website may not be appropriate for children under the age of 18. Yet the site’s content targets children from pre-K to 8th grade, which is below 18!

Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a Testing Mom app, it doesn’t exist. All content is accessible only through their main website. So, if your child wants to use their iPad for studying, they will have to use the web version of the website, which can be quite inconvenient.

Nevertheless, the company has developed two apps on the App Store, Paper Punch Party and Test Quest. The latter is free, and the former costs $3.99. The apps are only available for Apple devices, so Android users must skip this opportunity. The apps don’t have any reviews, which leads us to assume they are not very popular among TestingMom users. Let’s hope they will fix this shortcoming and develop an app.

We’ve thoroughly assessed TestingMom and are ready to finalize it by stating our pros and cons list. What we found the most appealing about the service is the large selection of tests, varied programs and experienced tutors. Unfortunately, though, the company has more drawbacks than benefits. Among them are fake Testing Mom reviews on Trustpilot and predominantly negative ones on Sitejabber, a hard-to-reach support team and controversial policies and terms of use.

TestingMom has plenty of benefits, but we would not recommend this company to our users. Their policy is sometimes misleading, and their tests are not very helpful, as some users claimed the questions were repeated after several days of consistent use. At the same time, the support rep claimed they have over 6000 unique questions per test. Frankly, we are more inclined to trust the user.
