ExpertWriting Academic Service Overview
Based on 27 comments on review aggregators, ExpertWriting has a rating of 4.0 stars out of 5.0, which signifies that most users are dissatisfied with the service. Customers cite missed deadlines, unresponsive customer support team, and deplorable quality of papers. With a score of 4.0 out of 5.0 stars, ExpertWriting ranks 60th among other essay writing services.
The first thing that seemed odd is the number of reviews the service has. Twenty-seven comments is an extremely small number for the service that would be celebrating its 10th anniversary on the market in less than two years. The second thing that sparked our interest was the content of those reviews.
Going through ExpertWriting users’ comments, you can find information that even when the customer specifies that they need a native speaker for their assignment, they still get the paper written by someone who obviously speaks English as a second language. So, we decided to investigate.
Our Take on ExpertWriting
So, what can be said about ExpertWriting? The service was launched in 2015, which means that it is almost ten years old at the time of writing. This surely makes it a legitimate one, right? Well, not exactly.
There are services that have been around for more than two decades, with constant complaints from customers. As you can see, legitimacy doesn’t necessarily equal quality when it comes to custom writing services. You just cannot take down something based on negative reviews of past customers if you’re not involved in something illegal. But negative reviews help prospective customers stay away from wasting their money. And that’s what we’re here for.
ExpertWriting’s website shows that the service is rather old. The design and functionality is fine, and it is easy to navigate, but there are not so many places you can go there.
The service offers help with any type of essay, as well as with term papers, coursework, and more complex academic writing. Such an approach is similar to what we saw when gathering information for My Super Geek reviews, CustomWritings reviews, and Paperial reviews.
You also have free essay samples at your disposal. But what can be said about the promised impressive quality? Well, in a negative way, it is really impressive.
ExpertWriting Analysis: Writing on Your Own Has Never Seemed Safer
When you open the website, you’re greeted with the statement that “academic writing has never been easier.” Still, half of the Expert Writing reviews on aggregators like SiteJabber suggest that doing your writing assignments on your own has never been safer.
Not that it guarantees getting good grades. Yet, if you get “E” or even “F,” the disappointment won’t be reinforced by the idea that you’ve wasted $20, $50, or $100 on that. Checking out the negative reviews, and they are quite detailed, you can get a picture that ExpertWriting users don’t get what they are promised.
Intrigued, we decided to check the service on our own. And, running a bit ahead of ourselves, we must admit that we were amazed by how true the comments on review aggregators were.
Basically, the only thing mentioned in comments that we haven’t encountered was being charged for a revision that has to be free of charge based on the Terms & Conditions. Also, the support service was responsive but of little to no use. Besides, their response pretty much gave away a lot about the service and its attitude toward customers.
Okay, enough spoilers. Let’s get into the details.
Communication With ExpertWriting Support Team
Some ExpertWriting reviews point out the unresponsiveness of the customer support team. It’s not something that we’ve encountered upon getting in touch with the team. The LiveChat window pops up, offering to communicate with the support representative.
We’ve decided to use the option right away and expressed our hesitation because of the negative reviews we’ve read online. We got an answer within a minute. Jacob amused us with their reply:
Why is there a comma after “is”? “People do no care”... Well, Jacob surely speaks English as a second language. And you see, if you got a poorly written essay from ExpertWriting, it’s your fault. And after that masterpiece of explanation, which left us speechless, Jacob asked us to provide details on our assignment.
What Can Be Said About Expert Writing Expert Writers?
With such a poor command of English of the customer support agent, do you think writers can do any better? Lots of ExpertWriting org reviews say that they don’t, and we can only agree with that.
The first strange thing about ExpertWriting, which claims to have over 500 writers, is that it doesn’t give you any information on its authors. Looking for “our writers” or “best writers” section? You won’t find it on the platform. And you can’t pick the writer on your own.
We ordered a college essay on the transformation of the fears from childhood to adulthood: seven pages with the maximum deadline. We also mentioned the requirement to add examples from Stephen King’s “It.”
And there were many problems with our order that we’re going to mention in the following sections, but one thing we can tell you already: it was poorly written. Odd sentence structures, odd word choices, and problems with grammar and spelling emerged here and there.
Our favorite part was punctuation. At times, it seemed that Jacob was behind our order. It seems that putting a comma before “that” is quite en vogue at ExpertWriting.
ExpertWriting Prices, Discounts, and the Refund Policy
Most Expert Writing reviews suggest the service is a waste of money. But what is the price of letting the service’s writer handle your assignment?
The starting price per page for a high school essay is $10. If you need a college paper, the price would be $12 per page. A university-level essay will cost you $16 per page, and Master’s and Ph.D. papers have a starting per page price of $20 and $24, respectively. But that’s only when you opt for the maximum deadline. If you need the paper urgently, you need to be ready to pay around $40 per page for a high school essay.
As for the discounts, you can get 5% off your first order. There’s also an option to get 7% off your first order if you subscribe to the service. The only other discount-related information available on the service’s website is that it can provide customers with discounts from time to time.
The information regarding the money-back guarantee is even more obscure. You can request a refund if the writer has missed the deadline and your instructions weren’t followed. But if you didn’t provide detailed instructions, the service may not provide the refund at all. And there’s no information on the refundable frame. Does it mean that you can request a refund whenever you want?
What About the Revision Policy?
Going through ExpertWriting reviews, you can run into several complaints about being charged for revisions that are free based on the information in the revision policy. Well, the revisions are free if requested within ten days after the order submission. For orders that are over $490, customers can request revisions within twenty days after the order is completed.
So, no matter how flawed the service is, we must admit that comments about being charged for the seemingly free revision may be from users who failed to check out the revision policy properly. Our experience with revisions was different.
We didn’t have to wait for ten days to request a revision. The essay was pronounced dead upon its late ‒ more on that later ‒ arrival.
Remember we said that we needed examples from Stephen King’s “It”? Well, they weren’t in the paper. What we got instead was a generic essay on the transformation of fears. The only connection to the book required in instructions was the mention of the fear of clowns. It was a generic essay a-la “When you’re a kid you’re afraid of clowns or zombies, but as an adult you know, (!!!) that those things are not real and you’re afraid of losing your job.”
We requested a revision immediately, citing failure to follow our instructions. The revised paper did contain the required examples but in a haphazard manner. Okay, we didn’t expect our writer to read the 1000-page long book within two weeks, but researching beyond the Wikipedia page would’ve satisfied us. The funniest thing about the revised paper was that grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors were still there.
Deadlines at Expert Writing Service
The minimum and maximum deadlines at ExpertWriting.org are the same for any kind of paper you may need. The minimum is always three hours, while the maximum deadline is two weeks.
Opting for the maximum deadline with not the most complex essay, we expected that it would be finished on time. Unfortunately, ExpertWriting had failed us once again.
One day before the deadline, we were notified that the writer needed an extension to finish our paper. Considering how generic the end product was, we may suspect that it was written overnight. So, let’s see: sixteen days instead of two weeks. We had to request a revision, which took another two days. In the end, instead of fourteen days, we got the essay ready within eighteen days.
And the revised version, although containing the examples from initial instructions, fared no better than the original paper. That would’ve been enough to request a refund, but we’re going to discuss another reason in the next section.
Expert Writing Service: Plagiarism
One of the things that ExpertWriting promises its customers on its website is 0% non-unique content. Given the results that we got, we are glad that it’s not completely otherwise: 0% unique content.
Upon getting the revised paper, we ran it through several plagiarism checkers. And boy, were we amazed by the results. Depending on the detector, the percentage of plagiarized material ranged from 17% to 23%. Who knows, perhaps if we opted to pay an extra $9.99 for the plagiarism report, the paper would’ve been unique.
Okay, considering everything we’ve experienced by that time with ExpertWriting, we didn’t even expect the paper to be unique. But the links the detectors led us to surprised us a bit. The sentences were ripped from unreliable blog posts and the Wikipedia page on Stephen King’s “It.”
Gladly, we were able to get a full refund ‒ the only nice thing about this whole ordeal.
The Pros and Cons of Using ExpertWriting
Perhaps the only positive thing is the website. It’s really easy to navigate. The support team is responsive but not really useful. The writers are not good at English and seem to not take revisions seriously. Also, the refund conditions are confusing. All in all, we don’t recommend our readers to use ExpertWriting.
